GREAT company

I had ordered and received six of the larger (16oz), strip steaks having previous experience with Creekstone by purchases through a third party who only offered 12oz steaks. Upon receipt and after requesting if possible that the fat cap be kept to a minimum, many of the steaks had, in my opinion only, a bit too large a fat cap and in a "Karen" moment I placed a review concerning the overly generous (in my opinion), fat cap mentioning that to me a rind of fat is a rind of waste.
MUCH to my surprise and having never requested such, Creekstone issued a generous partial refund. In this day and age that shocked me for its rarity and also assured Creekstone Farms that as soon as I get open freezer space I will place an identical order as my first one directly from Creekstone. Oh, and by the way I cooked to perfection one of the steaks I received and as in the past the taste and texture was sublime. Incredible product, incredible company!!

Great.............but

I had ordered Creekstone Farms steaks in the past via a third party vendor and in 12oz per steak size. Well, that third party vendor stopped stocking NY Strips from Creekstone so I did what I should have after my first receipt of Creekstone NY Strips that came with the same size NY Strips from 2 other farms, Creekstone steaks were of superb quality in comparison, Anyway I found Creekstones website and found they carried NY Strips in 16oz size so I placed an order for six and asked during checkout and in another service department contact that the fat rind be kept to a bare minimum as at the cost per pound of the offered steaks I wanted to pay for meat and not lard. Well, my order arrived and in 4 of the 6 steaks there was a really large fat rind with 2 steaks being trimmed as I would prefer. Now the marbeling seen is awesome and no doubt I can turn these steaks into butter tender steaks but will unfortunately have to discard quite a bit from each steak as frankly I dont care for the taste of...........pure cow fat. PLEASE trim the fat rind to a larger extent as if Im expected to pay close to $200 for six steaks............I want those steaks to be of flesh not fat. Also please speak truthfully when a customer specifically asks about fat trimming. It was suggested that if I were unhappy I could take some photos of the troublesome steaks and provide customer service with those images. Frankly I dont think its my responsibilty to jump through hoops for no definite good consequence. SELL MEAT NOT FAT

Great quality product

I really enjoy Creekstone products. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because I order their products through a wholesale meat company for my job and those products are absolutely jaw dropping incredible compared to what I’ve gotten from their site. Still an excellent product though, I would highly recommend.

NY Strip Steaks

Great quality steaks. Much better than anything I can buy from local grocers and better price also.

I like you but maybe try cold packs next time to ensure a safer product

Hello Creekstone,
I received my shipment of strip steaks and flank steak Feb 16th and just wanted you to know what i saw.
The two boxes of steaks were in the cooler bag, partially zipped and in a much larger box with the foam insulation (was no need to be in such a larger box, just saying). There were no cold packs in the box which i found a little surprising but maybe you don't use cold packs?
I know i have ordered from you before but i don't recall with that shipment.
The steaks and the flank steak had started to thaw, more than i had expected. I admit i didn't try to bend the strip steaks to see how much, i had just gotten back from a short road trip (i was within 2 hours of delivery) which was my first after surgery 3.5 months ago.
I pulled out one of the flank steaks to cut into sections (i live alone so the amounts in each package were more than i needed). I keep my knives sharp but i have cut through a thin pack of frozen bacon before and there was a LOT more resistance than there was in this flack steak package.
Now everything was cold but definitely not frozen.
So, maybe putting cold packs in your shipments is not something you do??? if you had, even just in with the boxes in the cooler bag i am sure everything would have stayed frozen.
I don't know how cold it is where you are at, usually it is cold here in Dolores, CO at this time of year but not now.
So, i am not asking for anything but i was surprised and a bit disappointed in how these arrived considering the price points on all of it. I did put everything in my freezer and for now i will consider them still safe to eat (hopefully). I was a County Extension Agent for 2 universities for over 30 years and in my last job i also worked in food safety at times so .... just a bit of concern over this, i would have much preferred they had been "frozen" rather than partially thawed.
If you don't use cold packs i would suggest in some situations that would be good. I will remember never to order from you in warmer weather, even at 2 days shipping with your boxes and cooler bags they would never stay frozen.
thanks, by the way i loved the ground beef pucks i had ordered before and so did everyone who tried them. And i will order them again in the dead of winter 🙂.
Have a good day.
