Looks to be an excellent cut of beef ... however, it came to us frozen solid (unlike previous purchases). I typically like to receive, trim, cut to various serving sizes and then freeze. Notwithstanding, we're certain this prime roast will be every bit as delicious as previous cuts that we purchased previously.
Best,
Bob
Smoked on of these for Christmas and it was a wonderful meaL! With them on sale it was a no brainer! A great piece of meat!
Tender, juicy and cooked to perfection.
Except for the fat cap the meat was devoid of fat. There was no interior marbling. A 24 hour salt followed by a slow reverse sear roasting gave it a good crust but it was flavorless and somewhat tough; a very disappointing New Year’s Eve dinner.
The Prime Ribeye Roast was perfectly marbled, deliciously tender and trimmed neatly. Flavor was enhanced by smoking it slowly on my Green Egg seasoned only with Sea Salt and cracked Black Pepper. Highly recommend only cooking to 125 degrees as my mother in Law likes her beef Well done and it was overcooked at 160 degrees. This temperature does not reveal the tenderness that this Prime Rib deserves.
